Greenacre School Barnsley: Pedestrian fighting for life after collision involving car near school

South Yorkshire Police say that the 67-year-old woman, who was a pedestrian, was left in a life-threatening condition in the incident which happened yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, July 5)
Officers from the force’s Roads Policing Group are investigating.

Hide AdThe incident happened about 3.45pm yesterday, when police say a blue Skoda Fabia TSi was travelling along Broadway from the direction of Dodworth towards Pogmoor when it was involved in a collision with a woman on the bend in the road near Greenacre School.
The 67-year-old was taken to hospital where she remains in a critical condition with pelvic and head injuries. A second pedestrian, a woman aged in her 70s, received minor cuts to her head.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward to help them with the investigation.
Sergeant Matt Duffy, the traffic officer leading the investigation, said: “We are seeking witnesses to this collision so that we can build a complete picture of what happened in the build-up to the incident and the collision itself.
