Free funding for sprinklers in high-risk South Yorkshire homes
South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue launched a £1m funding pot earlier this year to encourage more housing providers to install sprinklers in social housing and sheltered housing accommodation.
The brigade made the funding available in the hope of reducing the number of incidents as they attend dozens of serious house fires every year at these types of properties.

“Sprinklers are a cost effective way of making homes safer – they stop fires from spreading, put them out quickly and save lives."
