Ex Sheffield Steeler Rob Wilson is a half centurion
Former Sheffield Steelers captain Rob Wilson, one of the biggest names in the club history, turns 50 years old today.
Married last weekend in a ceremony attended by David Simms and former players Scot Campbell, Andrew Verner and David Longstaff, Wilson is now the coach of Maltby’s Liam Kirk, at Peterborough Petes in the Ontario Hockey League after the 18-year-old was drafted recently.
“Willy” became a Steeler in 1994 and had an on-off attachment with the club for six years.
