Pictures taken on Wednesday show a large build up of traffic on Longley Avenue West as cars waited to gain entrance to Shirecliffe Household Waste Recycling Centre.
Darren Darnill, who lives on the same road, estimated 30 cars were queued up at around 1pm yesterday (7 March).
He said: “They didn’t seem to be turning anyone away.

While Household Waste Recycling Centres remain open for Sheffield residents only, the council said they should only visit a site for essential waste disposal.
But Darren claimed he saw non-essential items in some cars, including old beds and grass cuttings.
“As soon as the sun comes out, our road is blocked. They all sit there with their engines running.
“We are just sat in their smog all day.”

Darren added: “One side of the road is completely blocked and double-decker busses are having to go down the wrong side of the road. Everyone has to go on the wrong side of the road to get past the traffic jams.
“All that wasn’t Shirecliffe traffic, they’re not from our estate. The cars are too posh.”
