Scorchio: Sheffield set to be hotter than Lanzarote as temperatures soar to 30°C on Friday

People in Sheffield could witness the hottest day of the year on Friday, as temperatures are predicted to soar to highs of 30°C in a brief burst of warm weather.
It is set to be hotter in South Yorkshire than temperatures in Lanzarote and Gran Canaria, following forecasts produced by the Met Office.

Hide AdSo far, this week has been mainly cloudy with some wet weather that has been caused by low pressure systems and high winds.
But temperatures are meant to heat up in the city tomorrow after today’s sunny intervals and highs of 19°C.

Sheffield will warm up to 25°C tomorrow, with cloudy weather that should turn into sunshine by the afternoon.

Sunshine will become cloudy in the evening on July, 31 and there will be lows of 16°C.
In a tweet, the Met Office said: “It will go from feeling more like autumn to summer this week, then back again over the weekend.”
