Developer must pay to build new homes in green space
It means the four bedroomed, double garaged homes, can be constructed on a vacant site at Tithe Laithe in Hoyland,Two large new detached houses can be built on the site of a former wood yard in a Barnsley community, planners have decided. on a plot accessed by a private road which also serves as a public right of way connecting Market Street and West Street.
Although the site is a former wood yard, it is classed as a green space and that means the developer will have to pay a £6,000 contribution to Barnsley Council to compensate for its loss.

Hide AdPlanning officials were contacted by one neighbour after the application was submitted, raising complaints which included the loss of light and privacy for neighbours, raised the issue of pedestrian safety on the shared access road and worries over the development causing harm to other properties.
Those concerns were dismissed by planning officers, who recommended the application should be approved, which was the decision taken by Barnsley Council’s planning board.
