Dad appalled after foul-mouthed Curry's call
Alan Hazel, aged 30, said he was ‘appalled’ when a telephone advisor called him the offensive term after he had spent more than six hours on the phone.
The dad-of-five said: “Words cannot describe how upset I was. If hours on the phone, ages without a washing machine and appalling customer service wasn’t bad enough, the advisor called me a seriously offensive term.

Hide Ad“I’ve spent thousands with Curry’s over the years. But I will never, ever go back. What I have experienced is truly appalling. The firm is too big to bother about everyday folk and people should boycott them.”
Earlier this month Alan purchased a Hoover washing machine from Curry’s at Meadowhall. But upon getting it home he realised the inside was cracked.
He called customer services, which is based in Sheffield. After being ‘passed round the houses’ for three hours, he gave up without any replacement being sorted. Alan, of Maltby, said exactly the same happened on the next two occasions.
When he called on Friday a female operator did manage to organise a replacement – but then ended the call by calling him an obscene swearword.

Hide AdAlan said: “I was shocked at what I heard and confronted her about it. She started to cry and deny it, but I did speak to her manager eventually.”
A spokesman for Curry’s said: “This sort of behaviour is completely unacceptable. We have given a full and unreserved apology on both a personal call and numerous emails to Mr Hazel... we will follow appropriate disciplinary actions.”
