Sheffield Crown Court heard on March 20 how Nathan Newey, aged 32, of HM Prison Lindholme, had been jailed for assaulting his ex-partner during an incident where he held a knife to her throat.
But when he was to be released in October, Zaiban Alam, prosecuting, said Newey objected to conditions which included staying at Norfolk Park Bail Hostel, Sheffield, and not to contact with his ex-partner in Rotherham.

Police warned his former partner to stay at an address the defendant would not know.
Newey told police he had no contact with his ex and had no intention of contacting her and wanted her to leave him alone.
The victim stated she had been left terrified.
Newey, who has previous convictions, pleaded guilty to making threats to kill.

Hide AdRobert Sanford, defending, said Newey has been remanded in custody since October and the threats had been made in the heat of the moment.
Newey had been concerned because his mother lives in the same area as his ex-partner and feared any restriction might stop him seeing her.
Judge Michael Slater sentenced Newey to 12 months of custody and imposed a five-year restraining order.
