Sheffield Crown Court heard on December 7 how Joseph Bailey, aged 37, of Kingsway, Barnsley, continued to contact his ex-partner after they had separated and he forwarded multiple images to her of her partially naked.
Simon Reevell, prosecuting, said: “The relationship was somewhat tempestuous and was defined by the controlling behaviour of Mr Bailey.”

Bailey forwarded two more images followed by more images and contacted her on Facebook to say those on a list had also received similar images, according to Mr Reevell.
Bailey told police he had been drunk on September 19, 2019, when the offence was committed and he claimed he could not recall sending any images.
But Bailey pleaded guilty to disclosing private sexual photos with intent to cause distress.

Neil Ronan, defending, said Bailey is “genuinely mortified by his behaviour” but he has turned his life around and there has not been a hint of impropriety since.
Judge David Dixon told Bailey: “When things have gone wrong you circulated graphic images of your partner for no good reason other than spite or revenge.”
Judge Dixon sentenced Bailey to six months of custody suspended for 18 months with a Rehabilitation Activity Order and 150 hours of unpaid work.
