South Yorkshire Police said officers were called to Windsor Crescent, Middlecliffe, at 5pm yesterday over ‘concerns for safety’ at a property
When they arrived a woman in her 30s was found dead stabbed to death.

Hide AdA 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody this morning.
South Yorkshire Police said: “Police were called to the Middlecliffe area of Barnsley shortly before 5pm yesterday evening, to reports of concerns for safety at a property on Windsor Crescent.
“A woman in her thirties was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“A man, also in his thirties, has been arrested on suspicion of murder and taken in to police custody.
“There is now a cordon in place and officers will remain there throughout the night as we carry out enquiries.”
