Shocked eyewitnesses at the Northern General Hospital said a car pulled up outside the accident and emergency department and a man’s body was left on the ground before the driver left the scene on Thursday, May 13.
Medics raced to the aid of the casualty and emergency open heart surgery was performed but 22-year-old Albanian national Armend Xhika, who lived in Pitsmoor, could not be saved and a murder probe was launched.
