Detectives are continuing to investigate the death of a woman in Sheffield after the arrest of a man on suspicion of murder.

The body of a 53-year-old woman was found in a house in Salisbury Road, Crookes, at around 7am yesterday.

The ambulance service alerted South Yorkshire Police to the discovery and a murder investigation was launched.

A 55-year-old man arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder remained in police custody last night.

The cause of death has not yet been revealed.
