Man due in court following 17-hour stand-off with police in Sheffield

Terry Hutley, aged 44, of Bradley Street, was charged with two counts of criminal damage, affray, outraging public decency and a breach of court bail following the incident in the same street in Crookes, which lasted from around 5pm on Thursday (May 21) until around 10am on Friday (22 May).
Hutley was due to appear before Sheffield Magistrates on Monday morning after being remanded into police custody following his charge.

Hide AdPolice, firefighters and paramedics, including specialist negotiators, were present at the stand-off. After Mr Hutley came down, shattered tiles could be seen at the foot of the small housing block he had been stood on top of, as well as on the pavement and road outside. The street was also cordoned off during the incident.
