Devonshire Arms Sheffield: Police called to reports of men fighting in pub car park on Herries Road

Police were called to a Sheffield pub car park over reports of men fighting there, they have confirmed.

Officers attended the Devonshire Arms pub on Herries Road, near Shirecliffe, yesterday evening, Friday, July 7. Reports shared on social media suggested there had been a stabbing but police said both men had already left the scene when they arrived and there was no evidence anyone had been stabbed.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “We received a call at 6.47pm to reports of two men fighting in the car park of the Devonshire Arms on Herries Road, Sheffield. Officers attended and found that both men had already left the scene."

The force added that enquiries were ongoing. Anybody with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 974 of July 7.
