Booze-fuelled Sheffield thug assaulted two police officers

Sheffield Magistrates’ Court recently heard how Keiron Linaker, aged 24, of Furnace Lane, Woodhouse, kicked one officer and attacked another after he was placed in a police vehicle.
Mark Hughes, prosecuting, said police had visited a Sheffield address on an unrelated matter and Linaker was asleep.

Hide AdMr Hughes added Linaker was placed in handcuffs but kicked an officer and when he was placed in a vehicle he tried to put the cuffs over another officer’s head.
Linaker told police he had consumed a lot of gin with a friend and said he had been asleep when he was woken.
Paul Metcalfe, defending, said Linaker is sorry.
Linaker pleaded guilty to two counts of assaulting a police officer after the incident on January 15.
Magistrates adjourned the case until February 27 to consider a probation report before sentencing.
