Steven Hancock, aged 22, of Stoney Croft, Hoyland, Barnsley, had been working at Glass Systems AG, in Barnsley, when he had an argument with a colleague and hit him with a glass window pane, according to a Sheffield Crown Court hearing.
Prosecuting barrister Lauren Hebditch told the hearing on March 16 how Hancock had been on the production line of the shop floor producing windows when he and a colleague had an argument.

The glass did not break, according to Ms Hebditch, but the complainant suffered a one-inch open wound to the back of his head which bled profusely and left him dizzy.
Hancock, who lost his job but now works as a packer, pleaded guilty to committing unlawful wounding.
He said: “It was just a heat of the moment thing. I recognised what I did was wrong.”

Judge Rachael Harrison sentenced Hancock to an 18 month community order with 150 hours of unpaid work and a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement.
She warned the defendant: “I am going to reserve this case to me because if you come back not doing what I am ordering you to do you will go down those stairs to prison.”
