Brave domestic abuse victim reveals shocking injuries on 999: What’s Your Emergency?

Viewers tuned in to the first episode of the new series of Channel 4 show 999: What’s Your Emergency? which followers South Yorkshire Police officers as they deal with crimes across the county last night.
And the show saw officers responding to a woman who called police after receiving a number of threatening messages from her husband after his release from jail.

Hide AdNamed only as Sakena, the woman and her mum Mandy, were seen telling police how the unnamed husband had made the pair’s lives hell.
Sakena told cameras how she had been beaten with a pole, a Hoover and was attacked with a shoe while pregnant, receiving a black eye, which she had to hide from her mum.
She also revealed that on one Valentine’s Day she had bought a box of chocolates for her husband, only for him to smash them into her face and hair.
And she said she had suffered a broken nose and severe facial injuries in ‘hundreds of attacks.’

Hide AdAsked if she was prepared to take on a new identity to help put her past behind her, she said: “I can’t. I’ve lost so much already.”
The programme revealed that Sakena’s husband was arrested four hours after police were called and sentenced to ten additonal months for making threats to harm.
