Basham aims to improve goals return for Blades
Basham scored United’s opener on Saturday in a 2-0 win over Walsall at Bramall Lane, which took them eighth in the table.
They trail sixth-placed Millwall by eight points, with six games left, but can claim back some ground on the top six with victory over Gillingham this weekend.

Hide AdAnd Basham, who shone in an unfamiliar right wing-back position against the Saddlers, said: “It is something I’m looking to improve, my goal tally. Playing at the back with John Brayford, I saw how he performs in the role so I tried to take that on board and I was delighted to get a goal.
“The gaffer [Nigel Adkins] pulled me before the game and asked if I’d played there before, which I had for Blackpool, and told me to get at their full-back.
“It’s quite an attacking formation; Billy Sharp scored a great second goal. We created chances for Billy and Che Adams, and myself and Paul Coutts had chances, too.
“The players enjoy the formation. It sometimes means I have to play a few positions, but I don’t mind that. As long as I’m in the team, that’s fine by me.”
United’s Under-21s saw their 17-game unbeaten run brought to an end with a 2-0 reverse at home to Colchester.
