2nd Girlfriend restaurant in Hillsborough is a “hidden gem”, with great value Italian and Mediterranean cuisine
Owner Chris Kamolli named his eaterie 2nd Girlfriend after hearing of a very successful restaurant owner in Italy who called his restaurant his second love after his wife.
Chris says: “Just like a loving relationship, starting a restaurant business is no mean feat and it is attention to detail, with the best ingredients cooked perfectly, which drives our family-based outfit.”
All the produce is freshly sourced by hand, daily, from local markets and expert chefs prepare everything in-house, making sure the highest quality Mediterranean taste is delivered direct to the table.
Eat well, at a good price
It is not just the fine food that customers enjoy; the staff say that the bill at the end of the meal can often work out a cheaper option than shopping and cooking at home.
There are discounts available midweek which also helps keep the price down. Chris says: “We are now offering a whopping 30 per cent off all your favourite dishes every Tuesday and Wednesday. So, bring your appetite and your friends, and enjoy a delicious meal.”
In true Italian and Mediterranean style, the restaurant is relaxed yet stylish; the perfect place to take the whole family. Children’s pizza and pasta dishes are available from just £5 on discounted nights and the 30 per cent offer includes all options on the whole menu. That also means steaks and specials.
Starters are from £5.50 and main dishes cost around £15 so good value is always available. But the discount means a pizza will be around £8, pasta about £10 and a steak just £18.

Chris adds: “We work hard to make sure every customer feels special and wanted. We try to provide exactly what they like. If that means more sauce, we can provide more, if they want extra garlic, it is not a problem.”
