Whether you are a dad, you have a dad or you’re remembering your dad, Prostate Cancer UK is asking the public to share a message or tribute on the new Dedication to Dad wall prostatec anceruk.org/father, where they can also make a suggested donation, to help fund lifesaving research.
One such message has been left by Janet Graves, aged 45, of Crookes, whose father, David, was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2016.

Sadly, David’s condition deteriorated earlier this year and he is now in a wheelchair, but the family remain in high spirits, taking part in Prostate Cancer UK’s virtual ‘Staying Inn’ quiz every Wednesday.
Janet’s message to her dad reads: “A friend to all you meet and loved by so many. Kind, clever, brave, determined, positive, funny. A role model. So proud that you're our Dad/Grandad. Lots of love xx”.
She said: “We’re a positive lot and wanted to make a difference for other men as a family.
“We spotted the quiz on the Prostate Cancer UK website and joined in from week one. We love a quiz and raising money for our favourite charity was a bonus. Dad was actually in hospital having his scan on the day of the first quiz, but somehow, we managed to get him online from his hospital room to join in with our team.

Angela Culhane, chief executive at Prostate Cancer UK said: “Father’s Day is a hugely important date in the charity’s calendar and we’re really excited about our new Dedication to Dad wall, which will prove a wonderful place to display the ultimate tribute to all those much-loved Dads and father figures. We thank everyone who has made this project possible.
