According to new figures revealed by Public Health England, Sheffield has recorded a total of 930 cases – an increase of 152 cases in the seven days to December 16.
The infection rate has also jumped to 159 per 100,000 people, compared to the previous 133 per 100,000 people.
Despite the spike in cases across the city, these are areas in Sheffield where positive cases are falling.
Sheffield is currently subjected to Tier 3 restrictions, which prevent pubs and restaurants from opening their doors to customers and households from mixing indoors or in private gardens.
