Coronavirus death toll continues to rise in Sheffield and South Yorkshire

The figures from NHS England, released daily, reveal three more people in Sheffield who tested positive for the disease have died, with 12 new deaths reported in Doncaster, four in Rotherham and one in Barnsley.
Nationally, a further 351 people who tested positive for Covid-19 have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 39,570.

Hide AdThe patients were aged between 30 and 102 years old. All except 11 – aged 38 to 90 years old - had known underlying health conditions.
Their families have been informed.
Four hundred and sixty-two coronavirus-related deaths have been recorded in Sheffield’s hospitals since the pandemic hit. In Doncaster, 424 people have died, while 310 deaths have been confirmed in Rotherham and 289 in Barnsley.
On Thursday the Government confirmed all four local authority areas in South Yorkshire will be under Tier 3 restrictions from 2 December.
