Sheffield school announces second Covid-19 case as more pupils sent home to self-isolate

In a letter to parents and carers yesterday, Newfield School in Norton Lees revealed a Year 11 student had tested positive for the virus.
A letter was also sent out on Friday advising of another case in the school.

Hide AdChildren who need to self isolate for 14 days have been contacted individually.
In the latest letter, the school said: “Please be rest assured that children are separated into year group bubbles and are taught in different zones in the school. Therefore the school remains open and your child should continue to attend if they feel well.
“We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation.”
Dozens of schools across South Yorkshire have reported Covid cases, with children, teachers and staff isolating to try to prevent the spread of the virus.
