Sheffield industrial tech firm to hire five after record year

Inspec Solutions needs technical engineers within the next two months due to contract wins. They come after the firm reported a ‘bumper’ year of growth which saw revenue rise from £2m to £2.6m this year.
The 25-strong company, based at The Ironworks, Norfolk Bridge Business Park, Foley Street in Attercliffe, installs hi-tech automation, control and monitoring systems in factories.

Hide AdManaging director Mark Ritson, said last year had been “amazing” after expanding focus from the metals industry to new sectors.
He added: “We experienced our highest growth ever and were delighted with the in-roads we made into some new high growth sectors.
“We’ve kept a competitive edge by investing in our people – and our commitment to developing our own engineers through apprentice schemes is a big part of this.”
The firm has developed a degree apprenticeship scheme to develop talent in-house.

Hide AdThree apprentices have recently been appointed who are studying for degrees in engineering at Sheffield Hallam University, joining five already on the scheme.
Inspec operates in industries including steel making, forging and manufacturing, petrochemical (on and offshore), food and beverage and power generation, as well as universities and research facilities.
The company has designed and installed more than 800 projects since its formation in 2000 by three control engineers.
It bought its first premises in 2005 and in 2016 bought a newly refurbished 12,000sqft Victorian steelworks building ready for its next phase of planned expansion.
