Amazon to hire 10,000 workers at five new warehouses – including 1,300 jobs in South Yorkshire

The online giant is set to hire 1,300 at a new parcel centre in the town, where it already has three large sites. It is part of a major expansion over the next 12 months that will see new fulfilment centres in Gateshead, Hinckley, East Midlands, Dartford and Swindown.
New jobs will also be created in corporate offices, web services and operations networks in areas including London, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Cambridge.

Hide AdAmazon announced it will invest £10million over three years to train up to 5,000 employees in new skills.
The firm is also creating 75,000 roles in Canada and the USA.
It comes after record sales during lockdown, net income more than tripled to $8.1 billion in the first three months of 2021.
Amazon's UK country manager John Boumphrey said: "We're creating thousands of good jobs across the UK from a diverse range of roles with excellent pay and benefits.
