Young people with ‘no acting experience’ and Yorkshire accents still wanted for Shane Meadows’ BBC drama

An casting call has gone out for boys and girls aged five to 16 of any ethnicity, with no previous acting experience required, ‘just enthusiasm and interest’.
Shaheen Baig Casting and Element Pictures say they are looking for ‘confident, brilliant young people’ to fill paid roles in the show.

Hide AdApplicants should ideally be based in the following areas: Halifax, Sheffield, Barnsley, Huddersfield, Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge.
Anyone who is interested is asked to send an email marked ‘TGP KIDS’ to [email protected].
They should include their name and contact details, information about where they are based, and their date of birth.
They should also send a short video clip, no longer than one minute and clearly labelled with their name, telling the makers a bit about themselves or perhaps a story they wish to share.

Hide AdAll submissions must be from a parent/guardian and the email must state they were present when recording and consent to it being used for the purposes of casting.

The Gallows Pole is his first period drama for the BBC and is based on the novel by Benjamin Myers.
